This kind of art is used in movies, animation, video games, and comics. Character designers use both creative ideas and drawing skills to make characters that feel real, interesting, and easy for audiences to connect with.

You will design an original character and create a single Character Concept Sheet that shows who they are and what makes them unique. Your goal is to express the character’s personality, story, and style through your artwork.

What to Include on Your Character Sheet
What to Include on Your Character Sheet
- Character Drawing:
- Draw a full-body view of your original character.
- Focus on shape, clothing, and details that show personality (for example, bold shapes for a confident hero, or soft lines for a shy person).
- Head or Expression Sketches (Optional):
- If you’d like, add one or two close-up sketches showing facial expressions or details.
- Short Description (3–5 sentences):
- Write a short paragraph explaining who your character is.
- Include their name, personality traits, and something about their story or role (for example: “a mechanic who builds flying machines,” or “a quiet student who discovers they have superpowers”).
- You can use pencils to start and then add ink on top if you have time.
