Illustrate the Frankenstein excerpt that we discussed in class last week.

You can only choose 4-6 panels to illustrate.

Try to draw in high contrast, value silhouettes.

Effective use of class time.

WHAT ARE WE LEARNING: How to interpret images for their meaning and justify our answers.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT: Making comics is about putting images in a sequence. If we change the sequence of the images, we change the story.

HOW WILL MY TEACHER KNOW WHAT I LEARNED: You will work in small groups to assemble cut up panels from a published comic.

Work with a small group to reassemble a cut up page from Alan Moore and Dave Gibbon's comic masterpiece: Watchmen.

Step 1: First Draft

Discuss panels with your group and make a first draft

Step 2: Review/Debate

Compare your assembled comic page with a competing group

Step 3: 2nd Draft/Justify

Edit your panel assembly based on your debate with the other group and write out a description of the story that joins each panel.

Step 4: Assess

Review your finished comic page and compare with the original comic
