WHAT ARE WE LEARNING: How to read and define comics.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT: We have come to the last unit of our class! We are going to move on from creating single pieces of art and start creating illustrated stories. Before we can create our own comics, we need to think about how to read comics and how they are structured.
HOW WILL MY TEACHER KNOW WHAT I LEARNED: You will read Understanding Comics by Scott McCloud to help you define the word "Comics". Then you will read a comic page posted to our class website to practice transcribing comic scripts.
After you add your guides, click on the "View" tab again.
Go back and make sure that there is not a check mark next to the "Snap" setting
I want you to trace these boxes to create panels for a comic page.
First, create one row of three boxes.
Then trace one big panel around the rest of your boxes; that's three of your guidelines wide and two guidelines tall. Depending on whether your canvas is portrait or landscape, it will look like one of these two examples.
